Rustic
Records, established in 1979, is one of the longest standing
independent record labels in the country.
Jack Schneider,
founder and president, has been a songwriter in the music
business for over 35 years. In the 1970s, he was a staff writer exclusively for Cedarwood Publishing (now a part
of Universal Music) in Nashville, TN.
Jack had songs
recorded by Grand Ole Opry stars such as Stonewall Jackson,
Jim Ed Brown, Kitty Wells, Gary Stewart, and others. Several of
these songs charted in the Billboard Top 20 including, “This
World Holds Nothing,” which hit the Top 10.
In 1979,
he opened Rustic Records, Inc. after purchasing
Little Gem Music, a record label and publishing catalog
associated with Little Jimmy Dickens.
With over
30 years of experience in the business, Rustic Records
continues to utilize its entrepreneurial vision to adapt
to an evolving industry. The opportunities for independent
labels have grown rapidly and leveled a playing field that
was once in favor of major labels.
Our corporation
also manages three
publishing companies (one affiliated with each Performing
Rights Organization) offering music publishing and licensing
to our clients.
In 2012,
Rustic Records, Inc., announced the hiring of two
staff members and a fresh talent roster! We very much look forward to
the future! |

Jac Schneider
Nashville, TN
native, Jac Schnieder, began his college pursuits at John C.
Calhoun College where he studied Art, Advertising Design,
Audio/Video Production and Film, in addition to Broadcasting and
English. He returned to Nashville to enroll at Belmont
University where he studied Music Theory, Entertainment Ind.
Law, and Engineering; graduating with a degree in Music
Business.
Jac’s first love
has always been music performance and performance art in general
and thus, he hit the road with various 80’s bands. |
Eventually, he embarked on
his own project with a couple of his longtime musical pals in 37 Targetz to form The Head of Phineas Gage and Mouth Full of Bees
as lead singer, rhythm guitar, drummer and co-producer
respectively.
Following this, Jac began to pick up work in Nashville on live
concerts productions with CMT such as The Road (series), At The
Ryman (series), and the Crossroads (series) as well as various
specials and award programming carried or sponsored by TNN, GAC,
and CMT; all of which he still continues today.
As a result of his work, Jac landed a spot on the Steven Curtis
Chapman Tour as Steven’s personal guitar tech. This lead to a
opportunities to work with artists such as Blackhawk, Michael W.
Smith, Bob Carlisle, Amy Grant, Jars of Clay, Kenny Loggins,
Wynona Judd, Alan Jackson, Ambrosia and most recently, Mary
Chapin Carpenter as well as many others. His job description
with these artists runs the gamut from Instrument Tech, Monitor
Engineer, Stage Manager, and Production Management. This
variety, he says, “Is what really helps keep ‘the business’ from
becoming stale and losing any initial excitement and joy I felt
in the beginning.”
In addition to his experiences on the road, Jac has also been
actively involved in the recording process as a drummer,
percussionist, and singer with his groups and various
singer/songwriters as well as guesting on album projects for
friend and producer, Glenn Rosenstein and others.
All of us here at Rustic Records feel very fortunate and
grateful to have Jac working alongside us and are able to draw
upon his years of experience, talent and insight. |
